Tour Plan

1
9h30 - Meeting
We will start this long and amazing day by picking you up at your hotel. Please bring a backpack with your belongings, don't forget the suncream and a hat. From there we will chat about the different lunch options we can have on this day.
2
Lima's Historical Center
Once all together, we will leave for the center of Lima. After 25mins in the car, we will arrive at the historical center of Lima. We will start the tour in the touristic area of Lima - the historical center. This area is beautiful, full of history, and definitely worth a visit. From Plaza De Armas we will head to The Central Market. We get off the beaten path, to see how Peruvians really live their daily lives. The central market of Lima, is We wian amazing opportunity for photography.
3
Barranco
Barranco's bohemian streets. The district is considered to be the city's most romantic and bohemian, being the home and working place of many of Peru's leading artists, musicians, designers and photographers. Walking through those quiet and beautiful streets is the best way to discover this district.
4
Chorrillos Fishing Harbour
With a local Combi bus, we will reach the Fishing Harbour of Chorrillos. Fishermen return from the sea around 3pm every day with fresh fish. Lima is known for its diverse culinary culture, but even more for the traditional Ceviche. What better place than this local harbour to find out how limeñan people do business and handle their fish?
5
El Morro Solar De Chorrillos
We will first go around the little mountain located south of Lima. Discovering another less visited place of Lima. El Mirador de la Cruz, El Salto Del Fraile... From there we will drive up that hill to be able to see Lima from an outstanding point of view.
6
ADD-ON : The Lively neighborhood of "Callao"
Back in our car, we will drive to the district of Callao. The district is known for being a bit dangerous. But don't worry this reputation doesn't belong to the area we will visit. We will walk through the beautiful colonial street of Callao Monumental before heading to la Punta where you will be able to try the freshest seafood in town. From ceviche to tiraditos, to fried seafood. Everything is available for you. Feel free to ask for another restaurant option if seafood isn't your thing

History of the Lima

Lima is the capital city of the Republic of Peru and is located in the central coastal region of the country. The city is part of an elaborate ecosystem that includes the Chillón, Lurín and Rímac Rivers. The city has a scenic view of the Pacific Ocean.
In Lima, everything is in endless movement, and even the past is constantly being rediscovered. Lima offers an extraordinary range of emotions, sensations, colors and flavors: travelers can visit the city’s impressive cathedral, fly over the ocean, enjoy a photogenic sunset, or savor unmatched cuisine. Lima is now the gastronomic Capital of the world.
Lima is a place of converging trends, created by its people and their living culture, where you will find every corner of Peru represented. One visit to Lima can never be enough. I had a great day taking photos all over Lima. Dan, the photo tour guide, is a professional photographer with quite a depth of experience and knowledge of Lima. I was able to approach people with Dan’s assistance and ask if I could take their photos. I also found some nice new little places which make for beautiful photos and angles I wouldn’t have considered myself.

This was the first time that my husband and I took a walking photo tour. We travel extensively, so we take tons of pictures; and this tour seemed like a perfect fit. And it did not disappoint; we loved it!
We saw tourist spots and local off the beaten path areas too. We learned a few photo tips and saw various areas of Lima.
Dan was a great guide. He reached out to me in advance of our tour; and he is knowledgeable and friendly.
There is so much to see and do in Lima and Peru; after just one day we realized that we will definitely come back and contact Dan to arrange our tours.

This was the best tour and day of my trip in Peru! Lucky for me and my sister, we had a private tour- no one else in our group. Super personal and detailed towards us! We were able to see the touristy aspects of Lima that are always in everyone’s list, but the best part was Seeing things that most tours don’t go to! Seeing the Market and the landmarks on the top of the mountains were my highlights! Dan was a great guide and ensured everything was in order! Felt very safe and knew we were in knowledgeable hands! Recommend this tour 100%!!

    Amazing Day in Lima

Dan is a joy to be around and takes you to places you wouldn’t necessarily visit yourself. We had an absolute blast exploring Lima with him and our driver Cesar. He was also super accommodating – we had a lunch reservation and he worked around our schedule. Would 100% recommend for a fun taste of Lima.

Great Way To See and Experience Lima
    Dec 2022
My group and I spent an excellent day with Dan on his Lima Photo Tour. My group of photographers discovered many places in Lima that would not be on “standard” tourist tours. Dan runs his photo tours very professionally from the moment you contact him to book a tour … to doing the actual tour. He is top notch! Highly recommended.

Fantastic Photo Tour. A huge thanks to Dan at Andean Photo Expeditions for being such a great guide and teacher during this tour from the moment he picked us up at our hotel to the moment he dropped us off at the end of an outstanding day. The tour was a great overview of Lima and really showed us how beautiful the city is, including some sights you might not find on your typical run-of-the mill tour. Dan managed the time perfectly and made sure we were able to fit in all the things we wanted to see and much more. And as someone who relies on my smartphone to take pictures, I appreciated that he had great tips for me as well as my friends who had photography equipment. If I ever make it back to Peru, I will make sure to book with Andean Photo Expeditions again.

Arriving for our first time in Lima, we sought a local guide who not only catered to photographers but also would show us the lesser known and emerging spots, places where real Limenos hang out. There’s no one better to do that than Dan and his crew at Andean Photography. He provided a cultural perspective of both its history, politics and current scene . Note: downtown Lima suffers from crazy heavy traffic, so Dan and Cesar’s local knowledge really saved us from a lot of unproductive “stumble around” time. Really important to us: We were able to go into neighborhoods we wouldn’t do on our own. (Lesson: You can go edgier when you’re with someone who knows what would and would not upset the culture while photographing.) BTW- while my husband is a serious DSLR guy, I was using my smartphone and Dan was equally helpful to both of us. When we come back to visit Cuzco, we’re definitely checking in with him again, as we hear he does a great Andes tour as well.
