I had a great day taking photos all over Lima. Dan, the photo tour guide, is a professional photographer with quite a depth of experience and knowledge of Lima. I was able to approach people with Dan’s assistance and ask if I could take their photos. I also found some nice new little places which make for beautiful photos and angles I wouldn’t have considered myself.

This tour is not to be missed, gives an insight into how local people live in Lima and surrounds. Guide is very knowledgeable and passionate about sharing info and tips on Peru. Best day in Lima so far! Thank you Dan.

This was the first time that my husband and I took a walking photo tour. We travel extensively, so we take tons of pictures; and this tour seemed like a perfect fit. And it did not disappoint; we loved it!
We saw tourist spots and local off the beaten path areas too. We learned a few photo tips and saw various areas of Lima.
Dan was a great guide. He reached out to me in advance of our tour; and he is knowledgeable and friendly.
There is so much to see and do in Lima and Peru; after just one day we realized that we will definitely come back and contact Dan to arrange our tours.

This was the best tour and day of my trip in Peru! Lucky for me and my sister, we had a private tour- no one else in our group. Super personal and detailed towards us! We were able to see the touristy aspects of Lima that are always in everyone’s list, but the best part was Seeing things that most tours don’t go to! Seeing the Market and the landmarks on the top of the mountains were my highlights! Dan was a great guide and ensured everything was in order! Felt very safe and knew we were in knowledgeable hands! Recommend this tour 100%!!

Review of: Lima Photo Day Tour
I am not used to do any tours during my travels.
But I am so happy I did it that one time .
The Lima Photo Day Tour guided by Dan is a must do in Lima .
He will takes you into so many places you won’t be able to visit without his knowledge of the city .
I’m not really interested in Photography, but Dan made me love the pictures I’ve been taking .
I highly recommend this tour . It will make you love Lima City.
Thank you so much Dan.

Decided to take advantage of some time on my arrival day to spend with our outstanding photo tour guide ‘Dan the Man’ who has a sincere appreciation for Peruvians, their art, their culture, and their architecture. We met at a local cathedral and began our adventure through ‘tourist’ and non tourist areas of Lima to include a church with catacombs, shopping markets, architecture, cuisine, and all by using the local means of transportation and taxi combinations. He does an excellent job of highlighting the different sub-cultures from religion and artists to fishermen! Dan is an excellent guide. Great way to spend the day.

A wonderful day! Spent a great day being introduced to Lima. Dan was most informative, answering all of our questions, taking us to see the ‘real’ Lima, not just the tourist sites. We got to travel like a local on the public transportation; he helped with photos and got us the best prices on souvenirs; than he took us to a wonderful restaurant in Chinatown for lunch. A highlight was a trip to the fish market at the end of the day before driving to the highest point in Lima for an incredible view of the Pacific Ocean. A wonderful day and great start to our Peru vacation.

Fabulous photography tour in Lima
I had a great day touring Lima with Dan. He arranged a private tour for me as there were no groups that day. He knows some very interesting off-the-tourist-track spots in Lima, and has an easy rapport with people and often stopped to talk to locals — which eased the way for me to take some lovely photos. It was a unique opportunity to experience Lima from the viewpoint of a local. I took a regular tour the next day but it didn’t compare to the Lima that Dan showed me. I would love to do one of his longer tours… it’s on my wish list. Thanks Dan, it was a memorable day.

Not To Be Missed! Best Tour of Lima!
My mother and I had a private day tour of Lima and it was wonderful from beginning to end. I am a photographer from the States, and Dan offered me a peek into the daily lives of locals at the market, in the streets, with the local fishermen, and above the city. I welcomed his expert advice on camera settings and points of view. My mother, who is not a photographer, also loved camera hints to produce fantastic photos with her iPhone. Lunch in China Town with the refreshing Inca Kola is not to be missed. Muchas gracias Dan! Can’t wait for another adventure. If you spend any time in Lima (or other Peruvian locales), find out what adventures are in store for you with Andean Photo Expeditions. Que Bueno!

Best tour by far
First off, Dan is amazing! My husband and I can’t say enough great things about this tour. We learned a lot about photography, but even more about Lima and the culture from a well versed local. This tour is a must for history buffs, photography enthusiasts to professionals, and travelers of any age! We stopped for coffee breaks, lunch, and gelato. He goes above and beyond to make sure everyone is accommodated! I wish my husband and I could rate this 10 stars!

Dan is a joy to be around and takes you to places you wouldn’t necessarily visit yourself. We had an absolute blast exploring Lima with him and our driver Cesar. He was also super accommodating – we had a lunch reservation and he worked around our schedule. Would 100% recommend for a fun taste of Lima.

Dan takes you off the beaten path on a magical tour of Lima with his driver buddy Cesar. If you want to do Lima the local way, don’t think twice. Dan is a fantastic guide with so much knowledge, and excellent photo skills.

Great Way To See and Experience Lima
Dec 2022
My group and I spent an excellent day with Dan on his Lima Photo Tour. My group of photographers discovered many places in Lima that would not be on “standard” tourist tours. Dan runs his photo tours very professionally from the moment you contact him to book a tour … to doing the actual tour. He is top notch! Highly recommended.

Fantastic Photo Tour. A huge thanks to Dan at Andean Photo Expeditions for being such a great guide and teacher during this tour from the moment he picked us up at our hotel to the moment he dropped us off at the end of an outstanding day. The tour was a great overview of Lima and really showed us how beautiful the city is, including some sights you might not find on your typical run-of-the mill tour. Dan managed the time perfectly and made sure we were able to fit in all the things we wanted to see and much more. And as someone who relies on my smartphone to take pictures, I appreciated that he had great tips for me as well as my friends who had photography equipment. If I ever make it back to Peru, I will make sure to book with Andean Photo Expeditions again.

Arriving for our first time in Lima, we sought a local guide who not only catered to photographers but also would show us the lesser known and emerging spots, places where real Limenos hang out. There’s no one better to do that than Dan and his crew at Andean Photography. He provided a cultural perspective of both its history, politics and current scene . Note: downtown Lima suffers from crazy heavy traffic, so Dan and Cesar’s local knowledge really saved us from a lot of unproductive “stumble around” time. Really important to us: We were able to go into neighborhoods we wouldn’t do on our own. (Lesson: You can go edgier when you’re with someone who knows what would and would not upset the culture while photographing.) BTW- while my husband is a serious DSLR guy, I was using my smartphone and Dan was equally helpful to both of us. When we come back to visit Cuzco, we’re definitely checking in with him again, as we hear he does a great Andes tour as well.
