The 7 Lagoons of Ausangate

$240 per person

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Capture stunning landscapes, glacial mountains and bright blue lakes.
  • Meet the locals in a small, remote Andean village.
  • Do the longest part of the trek by horse. Walk for no more than 2kms around the lagoons to photograph at your will.
  • Professional, photographer guide to help you discover the Andes in a unique and fun way.
  • Focused on photography.
  • Explore surprise locations away from the tourist crowds.

NOTES

  • Riding the horses is optional, if you would prefer we can walk to the lagoons, the hike isn’t the easiest but it will give you the freedom to photograph along the route. When riding the horse you still have 100% freedom to photograph along the lagoons, but not on the way in and out.
  • Weather conditions in the Andes are unpredictable so there is always a chance of bad luck, we wish we could control the weather but unfortunately we can not! Be aware that the rainy season months are from December through to March. During this season, the probability of rain is higher.
  • This tour takes you to altitude, acclimatisation is incredibly important so we recommend booking this tour after having already spent some time in Cusco.

Amazing Experience!!!! I already knew Pedro from friends in common in Portugal so this was an easy decision. Never the less, this was an amazing experience and i got great insights on Valle Sagrado,Machu Picchu and the amazing 7 lagoons trek on a horse.
Touring with someone that lives in the area means you get to know more detailed information about the local culture.
the 7 lagoons by horse is definitely a more local experience. I met the local Quechua community with their horse-trainers and natives that cooked for us. And the area around the Ausangate Mountain is just stunning. We literally crossed paths with a tourist couple that somehow also found that area but no other single tourist. This is a previlige! to have 7 lagoons all for yourself and to be touring with photographers that not only take beautiful pictures of your experience but also give you insights on how the locals live.
Definitely recommend it, even though i am not a photographer, it was worth every penny.

The expedition and Alex were awesome! The locations that Alex has picked out are off the beaten path and and not cluttered with tourist and unnecessary noise to distract your eye in your photo. His patience and understanding of photography go above and beyond what is expected. I has hit hard by altitude sickness and Alex made sure I was able to complete me excursion alive and with all the great shots I was trying to get. I will definitely be coming back to Andean Photo Expeditions again as their trips continue to grow around the region.
